Owen, May 12, 2017 – Due to its many years of industrial experience in the packaging industry, Leuze electronic has extensive expert knowledge in this area. On the one hand, this includes a suitable product range for applications in the food, beverage and packaging area, and on the other hand application-specific services and support. Leuze electronic demonstrated its specialized knowledge using an ingenious and flexibly designed safety guard on the new film wrapper in the Gropper plant in Bissingen, Bavaria. "With Leuze electronic we have solved the problem of nonexistent space for the actual specified minimum in and outflow in a creative way, implementing a space-saving muting solution whereby only two photoelectric sensors are needed, rather than four", explains Stefan Dicker, Project Manager at Industrieautomation Hähner IDH. This is important to Stefan Malechowsky, manager for bottling and packaging system configuration at Gropper: "Personnel protection must be guaranteed at all times. Nevertheless, safety technology has to be economical enough so that it does not slow down or even restrict the production processes – the workflow should only be interrupted and consequently the system brought to a standstill in case of emergency", says Stefan Malechowsky. These criteria are fulfilled by the smart safety solution that has been implemented here by Leuze electronic.
